CONGRATULATIONS ON BECOMING A THIRD DEGREE BLACK BELT!

Congratulations on reaching the rank of third degree black belt! We know you have worked very hard to achieve this prestigious rank, and are excited to begin your next step. The information below will help explain the next steps.

All three steps must be completed before we can schedule a ceremony date.

STEP 1 : THIRD DEGREE BLACK BELT APPLICATION

Please fill out our Third Degree Black Belt Application form accurately. This information is needed for the engraved name

on the trophy, embroidered name on the third degree black belt, and the Fair Lawn Taekwondo certification.

We ask that you please double check your information before submitting the form.

There are several fees attached to this application:

THIRD DEGREE BLACK BELT APPLICATION

Fair Lawn Taekwondo Third Degree Black Belt fee, $550. (This is a mandatory fee).

2. Black Belt Uniform, $80. (This is an optional fee).

STEP 2 : THIRD DEGREE BLACK BELT ESSAY GUIDELINE

This is your opportunity to tell us about about your black belt journey. You can share; what it took to reach third degree black belt, discuss your grit and dedication, discuss your struggles and accomplishments. It is also an opportunity to express appreciation to those who have helped you along the way. You will be reading this essay aloud during your scheduled Third Degree Black Belt Ceremony.

Requirements:

Must be at least one page, double spaced, 12 point font.
Please include your name in the upper right hand corner.

STEP 3 : BLACK BELT RESEARCH PAPER

We ask instead of you taking an online test, we would like you to research the following three topics. The research paper is done in the comfort of your own home. You may use Google.com or any other research platform. Below are the three topics. All three topics are to be covered in your research paper. Remember the more detail you provide, the higher your score. Please submit your research to our manager at info@fairlawntkd.com

Topics (all 3 are to be covered in your research paper):

1. What is the history of Taekwondo?

2. Koryo Poomsae(*)

3. Keumgang Poomsae (*)

(*) Koryo Poomsae and Keumgang Poomsae: What do these forms mean? Please follow with written instruction on the steps of each form. You may add illustration when writing out the steps of the form.
