OCTOBER 2019
Meet Henry Williams. He is 9 years old.
Henry received his junior black belt with second stripe
on August 14, 2019. Henry is also one of our junior leaders.

In addition to studying taekwondo, Henry enjoys building legos,
reading books, riding his bike, making YouTube videos, learning about American History and about the Titanic, and camping.
Henry began his martial art journey with us on July 31, 2017.
He came to Fair Lawn Taekwondo with no prior experience.

Henry's journey in martial arts started when his parents
wanted to find an activity to help release Henry's energy.
When Henry came for the trial lesson, he immediately
fell in love with taekwondo. Henry really liked Master Yoon.
Master Yoon was very funny and kind. It has been a little over
two years, and still is Henry's favorite teacher.
During the two years, Henry had learned how to be the best person
he can be, how a martial artist is suppose to behave, and continues
to be encouraged to push pass his obstacles and try his very best.

While earning his junior black belt, Henry had to learn how to do his
form really well, to be a great junior leader, and to be able to break a lot
of boards in order to get to the next belt level.

Taekwondo lessons has helped Henry teach other students to
build their confidence in their skills.

There has been noticeable changes to how Henry approaches
challenges and obstacles. Henry used to be nervous when approaching his challenges and obstacles. Now, he goes for it with confidence.
"Now, I have an I can do attitude, no matter how hard it is!"

When Henry was asked if there was any advice he would give
a future student. Henry would advice new students,
"Go for it! You will be fine."

Henry was asked if there was any advice he would give
to his younger self and older self. Henry would tell his
younger self and older self,
"I would tell my younger self, always try."
"I will tell my older self to stay fit, exercise, and eat healthy."

Henry wants to be a 9th Degree Taekwondo Master
and own his own pizzeria.

My Fair Lawn Taekwondo training has helped me make
the right choices, stick with my goals, be confident in
everything I do, and be kind to others.
This will help me grow up to be just like Master Yoon.
Hopefully, one day I will get to teach taekwondo,
where I can be a master to my students;
just like how Master Yoon is to me.
