JUNE 2019
Meet Evan Talanay.
He is twelve years old.
He received his black belt on August 27, 2016.

Evan enjoys reading, playing video games and
studying taekwondo. He began his martial art journey,
here at Fair Lawn Taekwondo on June 1, 2013.

Evan didn't have any prior martial arts experience.
Evan began taekwondo to develop discipline and find a fun activity.

Evan found keeping his grades up a bit challenging,
but he worked hard and overcame this obstacle.

Taekwondo has helped Evan gain confidence
and learned to think first before taking action.
"To be confident, thinking first before putting it in action."

Though the building of confidence,
Evan noticed a change to how he approaches
challenges and obtascles.

Evan was asked if there was any advice he would give
a future student. Evan would advice new students,
"Do not be afraid."

Evan was asked if there was any advice he would give
to his younger self and older self. Evan would tell his
younger self and older self,
"Always do your best in life, always help whenever you can."

Evan would like to be a lawyer when he grows up.

Fair Lawn Taekwondo will help Evan achieve his goals through
discipline and learning how to prioritize things first.
