DANIEL ZIMAVILIN.jpg

MARCH 2019

Meet Daniel Zimavilin. He is ten years old.
Daniel received his black belt on December 9, 2017.

Daniel enjoys playing chess in his free time.

Daniel started studying taekwondo at
Fair Lawn Taekwondo
on January 5, 2014.

He did not have any prior martial art experience.
Daniel's parents wanted him to be more disciplined
and develop self defense skills.

Daniel had to overcome some obstacles to
obtain his current belt level.

“Belief - A Black Belt has the Yes, I Can Attitude.”

Through Taekwondo, Daniel had learned,

"All things are possible through discipline,
hard work and determination."

Daniel began to change to how he approached
challenges and obstacles.

“Yes, I Can Attitude."

Daniel changed how he reacted to a challenging situation.

“You can't ever really be defeated. If you fail, you will use it as a lesson to gain an experience. It's okay to mess up, but it's not okay to give up. No pain, no gain!”

The advice that Daniel would give to a new student.

“Practice more than just during your weekly classes."

When we asked Daniel, what advice would
he give his younger self and older self?

“Always do your best and stay positive!"

When Daniel grows up, he would like to be a pediatrician.

Training with Fair Lawn Taekwondo will help
Daniel achieve his goals, by helping
him to see goals
and use self-discipline in order to meet that goal.
