Meet Charlotte and Zachary Rempel.
​
​Charlotte:
Charlotte is eight years old and a blue belt.
She enjoys ballroom dance, piano, and art.
​
Charlotte, would often come to watch
her brother during his training sessions.
She joined when we offered a backyard option,
during the pandemic. Charlotte quickly realized that
breaking the board wasn't so scary after all.
​
Taekwondo has helped Charlotte gain
self-confidence and to learn new skills.
​
"I am less scared of things, like breaking boards."
​
"Some obstacles were remembering my form
and it was really tricky to do a lot of the kicking
and punching, but I got through it."
​
"I am motivated to work hard by my parents."
​
"I am most proud about being closer
to being junior black belt."
​
When asked, what advice would you give to a new student,
"Always be yourself and it's okay to be scared."
​
When asked, what advice would you give your
younger self and older self,
"I would tell my younger self to go forward and not be scared.
I would tell my older self, I did it!"

When asked, what would you like to be when you grow up,
"A fashion designer."

When asked, how will your training from
Fair Lawn Taekwondo help you achieve your goals,
"My training from Fair Lawn Taekwondo will help me
be more confident, and help me try new things."

Zachary:
Zachary is five years old and a purple belt.
He enjoys hockey, drums, and guitar.
​​
Zachary had a no martial art experience prior to
Fair Lawn Taekwondo. He started training with us
at a young age, he wanted to learn how to protect
himself against bad people.
​
​
Taekwondo has helped Zachary learn patience,
respecting parents even more, and to be stronger.
​
"I am not as nervous about breaking the hard board."​
"The hardest is just kicking with my hard left
because it's meant for black belts."
"I want to be a second degree black belt."

"I am proud of myself for behaving well and listening well."

"Be healthy and do the right things."

"I would tell my younger self to grow up and be strong.
I would tell my older self to be healthy, strong,

"A nurse, like my Dad."
