JULY 2021
Meet Atharv Patil.
He is eleven years old and a first degree black belt.

Atharv likes to play with legos, ride his bike,
collect hot wheels, and is very eager to learn about
cars and other forms of transportation. He loves to
learning new things. He also likes to play with his friends,
and help anyone who needs help.
Another hobby that he has is going to Taekwondo.

Atharv had a little martial art experience prior to
Fair Lawn Taekwondo. His experience was very short, and he left
after he reached white belt with two stripes. He was tired after each
class, and eventually he finished the short term of his prior Taekwondo experience. Later, he took swimming classes which boosted his stamina,
and got him to the Taekwondo black belt that he is today!

Atharv started the Taekwondo journey because his friends started it,
and he wanted to start Taekwondo, as well.

"I had to overcome the obstacle of not being able to kick very hard,
and eventually I managed to kick very hard." - Atharv

Taekwondo helped Atharv gain more self-confidence.
"Now, I am more confident I can leap over a wall,
or something similar."

Atharv approaches obstacles more confidently,
where he ended up passing them.
"The thing that motivates me to work harder is the fact
that I am a black belt, and I am setting an example
for my peers."
Atharv's proudest accomplishment is when I got my black belt,
and when I got into advanced math.
When asked, what advice would you give to a new student,
"Put your best into your Taekwondo!"
When asked, what advice would you give your
younger self and older self,

"Try as hard as you can, at all times!!!"

When asked, what would you like to be when you grow up,
"I would like to be a doctor."

When asked, how will your training from
Fair Lawn Taekwondo help you achieve your goals,
"My training will help me in the self-confidence that I need to be a doctor."
